If you have been recording client patch test dates in client profile then we can use this information to help you identify any clients who have not had a patch test in the last 6 months!
Why is this important?
Brands and your insurance company will require clients who have certain services to be patch-tested before application. It is your responsibility to comply with their specific requirements.
How can Slick help?
In Clients, Notifications and marketing we have a list of all clients who don't have a valid patch test.
You can click on this to see a list of all clients and then send them a message asking them to book in ahead of their next service with you.
How is this calculated?
This list includes any clients who have a past/future appointment from any category containing the word colour/highlights/bleach/tint/foils and whose last patch test was more than six months ago or have no patch test record.
How do I record a Patch Test?
You can record a patch test in the Client Profile - Click on 'Patch test' here on the left side of the client profile.
As you see in the above screenshot, the client has an expired patch test. This it to flag to you they need a new one.
The flag can also show as On file (up to date and safe!) or No record (they need a patch test for any colour/chemical service!).
Click Patch Test and then the date - Add the stylist and any notes you need to share!
Recording a patch test via the App!
Open the client profile and scroll down to 'Patch test' and then edit on the screen you see here to the right.
Click the date to edit the date, add the stylist that did the test and any notes you need for next time! Then click save.

Patch testing is an important process we need to follow for your health and safety before any chemical treatments to minimise the risk of an allergic reaction. It also demonstrates our commitment to our professionalism within our business and raising the industry standards.
Patch tests are required prior to your first treatment with us and those returning after 6 months.
Patch tests must have been carried out in our salon with our staff.
This is a legal requirement and you will not be able to have your service carried out without the relevant, valid patch test within date.

How was the Patch Test booked?
To find out where a patch test is booked, please click on the appointment on the calendar. Select the changes tab and you'll see the origin on the booking. For example, the patch test below was booked in store by Jenny.
What about Patch Test overlaps?
We understand some big, busy salons have spare hands. Therefore, we have allowed your patch tests that prompt through Slick to be booked alongside other services. This means we can offer WAY MORE patch test and colour appointments to give your clients maximum availability and make you maximum revenue!
If you would prefer patch tests to be booked in their own individual slot please go to Menu - Online booking, E vouchers and payments.
Click on Menu, but if you're using the App then select 'More' on the bottom right!
Click on'Services requiring a patch test' and then tick 'Don't allow patch tests to overlap appointments'.
