What is Pincode Access and why is it useful?

With pincodes, each staff member has their own 4 digit code to access Slick. The staff member's permission level is also linked to their pincode, giving you greater control of your business.

  • Pincodes improves switching between permission levels in salon, rather than having to log in and out via email and password, simply enter your 4 digit pincode at the lock screen.

  • Greater in-salon privacy, with the screen locking automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

  • Keep track of who made which booking, with the name of the pincode user being displayed on the appointment

How to set up Pincode Access

  • Go to the menu in the top left hand corner of your screen

  • Select Staff & Business settings

  • Select "staff profiles & logins"

For existing staff members:

Select the staff member you would like to set up pin codes for

There are 2 key fields that must be filled in and SAVED before setting up pincodes:

  • A staff member must have an email address to have a pincode (this cannot be the same as someone else's).

  • A staff member must have their permission level set as Manager or Receptionist (this cannot be No Access).

If you would like to customise the access level for the staff member, please click on the link here.

To add an email address, select the email address field.

This will show all the email addresses that already have an email login to the salon. If the staff member's email address is in that list, select it. If not, press โ€œadd new email addressโ€:

Then select the Permission level field and choose Manager or Receptionist:

Then ensure you press SAVE CHANGES.

After this you can select the staff member again

Click the toggle to enable pincode access! ๐ŸŽ‰

Press the email pin to send their unique pincode

Setting up a new staff member:

  • Select "New Staff Member"

  • Select whether they require a column.

  • Enter their name and email address by selecting one from the dropdown or pressing "Add new email address" (this cannot be the same as someone else's).

  • Ensure the permission level is set to Manager or Receptionist.

  • Set their job title and employment type

  • Then Save Changes

  • Then select that staff member again from the staff list and click the toggle to enable pincode access! ๐ŸŽ‰

If you need to setup a login or pincode access for someone who doesn't need a column for bookings or retail sales, ie a remote manager or your accountant, you will need to:

  • Select "Add a new user"

  • Select "No, this user requires access only"

  • Enter their name, email address and permission level, save changes.

  • Then enable the login toggle for pincode access and/or remote email login

How to lock the screen

Auto lock: The screen will automatically lock after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Note: this time period can be changed to whatever you prefer - just contact customer support via live chat and tell them what you want. There is also an option to have no automatic lock if you prefer.

Manual lock: You can manually lock the screen by pressing the padlock icon in the top right hand corner

Locking the screen will take you here, so the next user can easily enter their pincode and access Slick with their associated permission level

After you have entered your pincode to access Slick, you will see your name at the top of the menu and your permission level:

You will also notice your name now appears on bookings that you have created ๐ŸŽ‰
