💡 Please note - If the SlickPay payment and refund were on different dates you will see the original payment on the date of the transaction and then a refund transaction of -£X for the date you action the refund on.
This is in line with industry accounting services and for salons using SlickPay, this approach correctly reflects the net amount made each day, as the refund impact occurs when the refund is actually processed, not when the original transaction took place
Step by step for card in store service payments
To refund the client, firstly you need to go to Menu - Daily Cash up.
Scroll down to Client bills where you will see all of your checked out appointments for this day.
When you have found the bill, select 'Refund/Edit' on the far right.
You will then see this window.
If the client paid card in store via your SlickPay card reader, this will refund them the same amount they paid in store. Simple!
💡 Please note, if the client paid part cash/other then you will need to manually refund this amount to the client. SlickPay will return the amount paid via your SlickPay card reader.
💰 If a tip was added via the reader, this will also be refunded to the client!
💰If a deposit was paid, this will return to the client profile.
What about the fees?
On the date of the refund, your Stripe account will always be debited the full amount of the client’s refund, ie if client is refunded £10, you will have Total Stripe Payout of £10, and this will appear as 2 transactions:
i) reversal of the original money we sent to them, eg -£9.50,
ii) refund fee equating to the original fee charged. If the client paid £10 and we sent the salon £9.50 then the original fee was £0.50, so when it’s refunded, we will charge a refund fee of -£0.50.
Therefore, £9.50 + £0.50 = £10 that we need to give back to the client.
If the payment and refund were on the same date, it would look like this.
If the payment and refund were on different dates you will see the original payment on the date of the transaction and then a refund transaction of -£X for the date you action the refund on.

Go to the client's profile and select 'View/Refund Deposit'.
Enter the full amount of the deposit in the refund amount box.
Click on 'Refund' to process the refund.
