The SlickPay card reader is the easiest way to process payments in store that will automatically populate your cash up and save you 7 hours a week of cash up nightmares!

Have you taken a payment on your SlickPay card reader in store that you are not sure has been correctly processed?

Firstly, please check the article here to follow the steps to ensure you are using your SlickPay card reader correctly.

Top tip - To trigger the card reader you need to ensure you are checking out the service or product using the 'card in-store section' of the check out as you see here.

Make sure you only press the 'complete' and confirm buttons on the check out once your client is ready with card in hand to pay their bill.

Once the payment has been completed successfully you will see this pop up on the check out screen on Slick.

If you do not see this window, it is possible that the payment has not been processed or 'captured'.

To check if this is the case please go to menu - cash up and scroll down to client bills. The client bill will only show as a transaction here if you have successfully taken the payment. If the transaction does not display here, it is possible that the payment has not been 'captured' due to the check out timing out.

The client is still in salon

At this stage, you can safely navigate back to the calendar and try the check out process again.

Do not worry about double charging the client - only one transaction has been created and only one payment will be processed (captured successfully).

The client has left the salon

If the client has left the salon - do not panic! The team here at Slick Support can capture the payment for you.

Simply send us a message on the Live Chat telling us -

  • The client name

  • The payment amount

  • Any other information about the check out (discounts, cash and deposits used). We can manually capture the payment for you and the transaction will appear on the cash up as normal.
