How to confirm a booking!

Confirmation of an appointment via the Calendar or a client SMS

Written by Phoebe Davis

Confirm a client’s appointment manually in the calendar, or let Slick handle it automatically when a client replies to their SMS reminder.

What confirmation does

When a booking is confirmed, a tick appears on the appointment card in the calendar. This lets the whole team see at a glance who has confirmed they’re coming in - no guesswork, no chasing.

There are two ways a booking gets confirmed: automatically, when the client replies to their SMS reminder, or manually, when you mark it yourself.

⚠️ Please note: If you confirm a booking manually, Slick will not send the client an SMS reminder for that appointment. Only confirm manually if you have already spoken to the client directly.

Access on desktop!

  1. Log into Slick on your computer.

  2. Click on the appointment in the calendar.

  3. The booking modal opens. Click Confirm at the top of the modal.

  4. The appointment card in the calendar updates to show a confirmed tick. ✅

Access in App

  1. Open the Slick app on your phone or tablet.

  2. Tap Diary in the bottom navigation bar.

  3. Tap the appointment you want to confirm.

  4. The Appointment Details screen opens. Tap Confirm ✅ in the quick action buttons below the client’s name.

  5. The appointment card updates to show a confirmed state. ✅

How automatic confirmation works

When a client replies to their SMS reminder, Slick confirms their booking automatically - no action needed from you. The tick appears on the calendar card as soon as their reply is received.

To see what a client replied, open the booking and check the SMS history. For more detail on reading SMS replies, see How to see what your client has replied to their text reminder.

What the status icons mean

Each appointment card in the calendar shows a status icon so you can see the booking’s current state at a glance. To see the full glossary of icons, click the Glossary button in the top right of the calendar page.
