UK law requires you to give clients an option to opt out of any marketing (blast) SMS you send. Find out more below!

What is the GDPR text?

It's a text sent alongside your first marketing text to an individual client to give them the option to politely request not to receive these SMS any longer.

It looks like this!

What happens?

The first time you send a marketing message, Slick will automatically send an opt-out message to the client. This opt out is compulsory to ensure you comply with GDPR and is charged at the standard SMS rate.

Why do SMS reminders not need GDPR texts?

Reminders and Digital appointment cards are considered business critical as the client has already opted in to receiving information about their appointment that they have proactively booked with you.

Clients also have the option to turn off SMS reminders, which you can do from the client profile.

Why do I have to pay?

Please note, we cannot pay on your behalf your 'data protection fee' under the GDPR/Data protection act 2018. This, as a handler of personal data, is your responsibility to pay and maintain.
