A good Instagram page is vital for any business to showcase their fabulous work and attract new clientele. Remember it will only ever be seen by 5% of your client base so leave all important info to text message. So how do we stand out?

  1. Instagram Bio

Instagram 'handles' should be easy to find and remember. Is @thehairshed909302 going to attract new clients?

What does your bio say about you?

How do clients book with you?

Is you address listed? How do they contact you?

2. Website Links

Where does it lead? As Instagram only allow you to have one link, it's worth creating a free 'Linktree' account to give clients more options to visit your website, Facebook page or leave a review.

3. Add a 'Book Now' Button

Our online booking allows you to generate more revenue via your social media pages. Here's how to generate more followers, stay ahead of your competitors and drive more clients to book into your salon for an appointment.

4. Get Snappy

It’s time to show off your amazing work! Can clients see your personality through the pictures?

Take before/after snaps and videos of your clients (with permission), your salon, team, products and inspiration!

The best time to post is between 5-6pm on weekdays and Sundays at 2pm. If you can post twice a day, even better! You can also use free Planoly to automatically post all your content and use Canva to create it. Easy peasy!

5. Whats your theme?

Whether it's a colour, theme, placement posting, pick and stick to it.

6. Engagement

Ask your followers questions, get them to engage with you. For example:

  1. What’s your favourite hairstyle?

  2. Fancy a change? Check out our new bold range of colours!

  3. When did you last have a treatment? For soft and silky threads...

Always respond to messages and comments. Like other salons work, engage with salons as well as clients.

7. Get Tagging

Tag your clients (with permission) and any products you use e.g. @lorealpro, @wella, @goldwellUK

@sinclairshairdressing

8. Hashtags

Tag all your photos with hashtags to ensure they  are seen by the Instagram community. Here are a few of the most popular hashtags you may want to copy/paste into posts. You can have a maximum of 30. It’s worth including the name of your salon and the area you are in:

  1. Go to your profile and tap the 3 lines in the top right hand corner

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Account > Linked Accounts, then select Facebook.

  4. If you haven't already, enter your Facebook login information.

  5. By default, your Instagram account will link to your personal Facebook profile. To link to a Page instead, tap Share to and choose a Page that you manage.

Also ask clients to ‘Like’ your Facebook page to create more buzz.

10. Use your inspo!
