Set Up and use Tap To Pay

Start taking payment via Tap To Pay in seconds

Tap to Pay requires little to no set up meaning you can start taking payments in seconds

Tap To Pay is available for any iOS or Android app user.

Please note Apple does not support Tap To Pay on iPad.

Do you have a Stripe account already?

If you have a Stripe account then no set up is needed- just start taking payment today!

If not then first set up a Stripe account to take payment


Accepting Tap To Pay

You can control which staff members have access to Tap to Pay by heading to More - SlickPay - Tap to Pay Phone Payments


Taking payment

  1. Check out a client as normal

  2. Click Continue

  3. On Select Payment Method screen, choose Tap to Pay

  4. Choose tip option and Complete payment

Your phone will show the total amount and then press your client's card or phone to the back of your phone

Rates are 1.29%+ 15p + VAT

Do I pay a monthly line rental or fee for Tap to Pay?

No, you just pay the per transaction fee.

When do I receive my funds

Funds are send next business day by 9am- see our payout schedule here

What can't I take Tap to pay payments.

  • This could be due to a few factors. The most likely is that it's no enabled for your login, ensure it's enabled in More - SlickPay - Tap to Pay Phone Payments

  • If you get a message such as 'Failed to prepare tap to pay reader' - ensure you're on a device that is compatible with Tap to Pay, for example; tablets devices are not supported.

  • Your business Stripe account may not be set up, below are articles to set up as a;

  • Payment Limitations

    • There is no transaction limit set by Slick, but individual clients' banks or card settings may impose their own tap limits

    • A small number of UK card issuers require chip-and-PIN insertion for Strong Customer Authentication — those cards will decline at tap and need to be inserted
