Please note your SlickPay reader can only be enabled during office hours. Monday to Friday 8-5pm ๐
Set up S700/S710 (White) reader!
Set up BBPOS (Black) reader!
Install the Battery - BBPOS
With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned.
Charge the Card Terminal, then Power On the Device
Plug the card reader into the charger. On the BBPOS this is on the right hand side and for the S700/S710 you'll find the USB-C charge port on the left side of the device.
๐ We recommend charging the device for 4 hours before first use ๐
Please always charge the reader using an outlet or the (optional) ethernet dock, do not use a laptop to charge the reader as this does not provide sufficient power.
To power on the device, hold down the power button on the right-hand side until the screen turns on. Even when itโs not in use, leave the terminal plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.
Accessing Settings
To open the settings menu swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a settings button.
Tap the settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139.
From here you can update your WiFi settings or generate a pairing code for device registration. You can also access the display/appearance settings and 'factory reset' if prompted by the team to do so.
Connect to the Internet
After powering on the terminal, youโll be prompted to connect to the internet.
To connect to Wi-Fi or switch networks, go to settings (see above), then select Wi-Fi settings to choose the network and connect. Attempting to join a new network disconnects the reader from any existing wireless connection.
Wired Connection with (optional) Dock - BBPOS
If you have a dock, ensure all cables are connected and the dock is connected to the internet via the ethernet cable (shown below). Your terminal will connect to the internet while it is in the dock via the ethernet cable.
The terminal will need to be on the dock to maintain a connection with the internet. When you pick it up from the dock, it will attempt to connect to a WiFi network (if you have connected previously).
Update the Device
If prompted, press Update to update your device. This will take a few minutes to complete, and the screen may turn black for a minute.
Pairing your Card Terminal with Slick
After you choose your country, youโll be prompted to register the Card Terminal, and a pairing code will appear on-screen.
The card reader will display a three-word code like "giraffe-honeydew-cilantro" or "bat-wasabi-straw."
When you have your pairing code, open Slick and using the Live Chat bubble just enter the 3 word code and send right to the team!
If you need to generate a new pairing code, swipe your finger in from the left of your terminal screen > Press Settings> Enter 07139 as the Admin PIN > Press Generate pairing code.
Once added, you should see a Registration successful message on your terminal, and the device will automatically begin applying an update.
