Install the Battery

With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned.

Charge the Card Terminal, then Power On the Device

Connect the reader to power by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol. If you have a dock (optional), the device will charge while connected to the dock.

🔋 We recommend charging the device for 4 hours before first use 🔋

Please always charge the reader using an outlet or the (optional) ethernet dock, do not use a laptop to charge the reader.

To power on the device, hold down the power button on the right-hand side until the screen turns on.

Even when it’s not in use, leave the terminal plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.

Accessing Settings

To open the settings menu swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a settings button.

Tap the settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139.

From here you can update your WiFi settings or generate a pairing code for device registration.

Battery percentage is displayed at the top right of this screen. To close the settings screen click the back arrow in the top left corner.

Connect to the Internet

After powering on the terminal, you’ll be prompted to connect to the internet.

Because the BBPOS WisePOS E is internet enabled, it communicates directly with Slick through WiFi OR ethernet.

To connect to Wi-Fi or switch networks, go to settings (see above), then select Wi-Fi settings to choose the network and connect. Attempting to join a new network disconnects the reader from any existing wireless connection.

Wired Connection with (optional) Dock

If you have a dock, ensure all cables are connected and the dock is connected to the internet via the ethernet cable (shown below). Your terminal will connect to the internet while it is in the dock via the ethernet cable.

The terminal will need to be on the dock to maintain a connection with the internet. When you pick it up from the dock, it will attempt to connect to a WiFi network (if you have connected previously).

Update the Device

If prompted, press Update to update your device. This will take a few minutes to complete, and the screen may turn black for a minute.

Choose Language & Country

Next, use the device to choose your language and country.

Pairing your Card Terminal with Slick

After you choose your country, you’ll be prompted to register the Card Terminal, and a pairing code will appear on-screen.

The card reader will display a three-word code like "giraffe-honeydew-cilantro" or "bat-wasabi-straw."

When you have your pairing code, open Slick and using the Live Chat bubble just enter the 3 word code and send right to the team!

If you need to generate a new pairing code, swipe your finger in from the left of your terminal screen > Press Settings> Enter 07139 as the Admin PIN > Press Generate pairing code.

Once added, you should see a Registration successful message on your terminal, and the device will automatically begin applying an update.

After the update is complete, restart the terminal by holding down the power button on the right side, then press Restart.

Slick Operations Team will load up your Business Logo automatically. If you have not provided a logo during your Onboarding Process, please send a High Res PNG or JPEG logo to info@getslick.com.
