How to Process Chair Rent Payments Through Slick

You can use Slick to record and process your team’s chair rent payments, meaning the payments are recorded within Slick and can be included within your salon’s revenue and reporting

Step by Step

Create a Chair Rent service

In Services, create an In Salon Use Only category and make sure it isn’t available for online booking.

Add a service called Chair Rent with:

  • Price: The chair rent amount

  • Duration: 15 minutes

  • Availability: The relevant team members

For example, weekly rent of £150 would be set up as Chair Rent – £150 – 15 minutes (application time).

Add the appointment

On the day rent is due:

  1. Add a Chair Rent appointment to the calendar in the column of the chair renter/team member.

  2. Check the correct amount is showing.

  3. Repeat for each chair renter.

Take the payment

The chair renter can check out the appointment and pay by cash or card, just like a normal appointment.

The payment will then be recorded in Slick and included in your reporting.

Using an external card reader

Select the relevant payment method in Slick and take the payment through your usual card reader. The payment will go to your usual bank account.

Using SlickPay

IMPORTANT - If you use SlickPay, make sure the payment is directed to the salon’s business account.

The simplest option is to add Chair Rent appointments to the salon owner’s column, or another column linked to the business account.

If chair renters have payment splits set up, you can instead set:

  • Normal services: 100% to the chair renter

  • Chair Rent: 0% to the chair renter / 100% to the business

Pay by payment link

You can also request a 100% deposit for the Chair Rent appointment and send the payment link to the chair renter. They can pay the full amount from their phone without needing to process the payment in the salon.

TOP TIP - Monthly routine

At the start of each month, add the Chair Rent appointments for the dates rent is due. Chair renters can then pay and check out each appointment as it becomes due, giving you a clear record of what’s been paid and what’s still outstanding.
