Editing your email

What Slick Automatically Fills In For You

To save you time, your template may automatically include:

  • Your salon logo - if you've uploaded it on Slick, in the branding section

  • Your online booking link (added to “Book Now” buttons)

  • Your salon address and phone number

  • And more Merge Tags

How to Customise a Template

Once you’ve chosen a template, you can personalise it using the drag-and-drop editor.

1. Edit any text

Click inside a text block to update:

  • Content

  • Style

  • Colours

  • Formatting

  • Merge tags (e.g., First Name)

2. Replace images

Upload your own images or GIFs to personalise:

  • Hero banners

  • Staff photos

  • Product images

3. Change the layout

Use the right hand toolbar to drag in:

  • Text blocks

  • Images

  • Buttons

  • Columns

4. Play with the layout

5. Add or remove sections

Delete sections you don’t need, or duplicate a row to repeat the layout.

6. Customise your call-to-action button

Edit:

  • Button text

  • Colour

  • Link (auto-linked if online booking is enabled)

6. Insert merge tags for personalisation

Easily add:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Logo

  • Online Booking

  • Phone

  • Address

Personalisation improves engagement and open rates.

Saving Your Own Templates

If you’ve created a design you want to reuse:

  • Click Save as Template inside the Slick Email editor

  • Name your template so you can find it easily

  • Access it anytime under Load Template → Your Templates

Saving templates helps you:
✔ Keep your brand consistent
✔ Avoid redesigning emails from scratch
✔ Speed up your next campaign

Best Practices When Editing Templates

  • Keep your content short and easy to skim

  • Use high-quality images

  • Stick to one main call-to-action

  • Personalise your greeting (e.g., “Hi {{First Name}}”)

  • Always send a test email before sending your campaign

What Are Merge Tags?

Merge tags are little shortcuts that automatically pull information into your email so you don’t have to type it yourself.

Think of them like fill-in-the-blank fields that Slick completes for you.

Examples

  • You write:
Hi [First Name], we hope you're well.

    Your client sees:
Hi Emma, we hope you're well.

  • You write:
    [Online Booking]
Your client sees your Unique Online Booking Link

How to Spot a Merge Tag

Anything with a blue dotted outline in your email is a merge tag.
That means the information will be filled in automatically when the email is sent.

Adding a merge tag to your email

Click any text block to open the formatting toolbar.
Select Merge Tags, then choose the tag you want (like [First Name] or [Online Booking]).

It will drop into your text automatically and personalise each email for every client.

(Analytics may take up to 10 minutes to appear.)
