How do I switch to Slick?

Transferring from other software providers or a paper book

It's easy to get started with Slick whether you're using an appointment book or another salon software provider or system!

We recommend setting up your services, prices and staff via our easy onboarding process - this way you can customise how your services are categorised (under names and colours of your choice), what they're called and how they are priced.

Once your Slick salon is setup, we can help you to import your client and booking data from whatever software you're using currently into Slick.

Please note that the export and import of client information is free of charge but the transfer of future bookings is chargeable. Your Area Sales Manager will be able to discuss these costs with you as part of the onboarding process.

Transferring data into Slick from another system:

  • Clients and Appointment data: you may need to call your current salon software provider and request this data in a CSV (spreadsheet) format. The data is legally yours so you are entitled to request and receive it in a timely manner.

  • However, some systems allow you to download your client and/or booking data yourself - please see our list of articles below that show you how to export data from various systems.

  • Once you have your data, just contact us via the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of the page, and we'll get the data imported for you!

  • Retail Products can be entered via our simple product entry process in Settings once you've reached the calendar. But if you already have spreadsheet, a list or even screenshots of your retail products and prices, just send them to us and we'll import them for you! They can also be scanned in with our app!

Entering data from a paper appointment book and client record cards:

  • Clients and Appointment Data: many of our salons have chosen to enter clients and bookings "as they go" since Slick makes it super easy to add new clients when you are making a booking.

  • However if you would like any assistance, just contact us at  info@getslick.com or speak to one of our Slick reps via the live chat bubble in the bottom right corner of the page and we can happily arrange for someone to help you!
