A waitlist is a great tool for any salon to drum up business and ensure your vacancies are filled!

However, what if you already have bookings in your calendar? What if you don't know when you're opening back up?

You know when you are opening

If you know when your salon will be open, you can block out your waitlist column until that date to ensure clients are only able to book in past that date:

1. Create your Waitlist

2. Click in your waitlist column and click 'Book Time Off':

3. Block out your time 'All Day', 'repeated daily' until the day you want to open back up:

4. Rearrange your current bookings/priority bookings to new dates when you have reopened

5. Contact all other clients to let them know your waitlist is now open so they can submit their interest for any slots that are already filled by pre-existing bookings

You do not know when you are opening

Without an opening date, it may seem that a waitlist is pointless. However, your clients are still going to want to be booked in for when you do open.

You can keep a 'manual' waitlist on Slick by creating a waitlist and adding your clients onto it as and when they contact you expressing an interest in making a booking. You can then choose to 'edit booking' and move them to their firm booking date.

If you have a rough idea of when you will be reopening, you may want to put your waitlist online and allow clients to book themselves for a specified time and day:

1. Create your waitlist

2. Go to Menu - Online Bookings & Payments and ensure your online booking is switched on:

3. Copy your booking url and put it in an SMS message or on your social media to let clients know your waitlist is now open but that bookings will be confirmed when you have a reopening date:

4. Once you have an opening date, simply click on the waitlist bookings and move them to their confirmed date and time:
