If you come across a problem with setting up your 'Book Now' button this is usually with how your Facebook and Instagram pages are setup.
Before you do anything else...
If you're coming across any problem with setting up your Book Now button via Slick or via Facebook, try setting it up manually via Instagram and it should link across automatically. Click here to find out how!
Changing Instagram Account Type
You will need to have a 'Business' or 'Creator' Instagram account in order to have full access to the 'Book Now' button feature. To change your account from a personal account to one of the above just click the Menu bar, then 'Settings', 'Account' and 'Switch Account Type' and choose from 'Business' or 'Creator.'
Please note: business accounts cannot use copyrighted music in reels or stories due to copyright infringement laws so if you'd like to use copyrighted music in reels please select a creator account. IG business profiles can use original audio in reels.
Permission to connect this Page
You may see this error pop up when trying to setup your Book Now button through Slick.
To resolve this please ensure that the Facebook page you are trying to setup has listed you as an 'Admin.' Only 'Admins' for the Business Page can make changes. If you are listed as an 'Editor' you will not be able to make these changes.
To check and amend your status, please click on the Business page in your Facebook sidebar, click 'Settings' and then 'Page Roles.' You will be able to see whether you are listed as 'Admin' or 'Editor.'
If you are listed as 'Editor', please contact the 'Admin' of the Business Facebook page to grant you access. They will be need to login to their Facebook page, follow the same steps as above and click 'Edit' next to your name to change you to 'Admin' access.
Permissions to connect Instagram Page
If your Instagram page is not fully connected to your Facebook page, you may see an error like this.
You will need to ensure your Instagram account is linked to Facebook by going to your Facebook Business Page, clicking on 'Settings' in the menu sidebar and then 'Instagram.' Then click 'Review Connection'.
You'll then be taken through a few pages to review the connection and login to your Instagram account. Once complete you will see this screen below. You can then carry on with setting up your Book Now buttons.
PLEASE NOTE: You may see the option to connect your Instagram and Facebook pages on your Facebook Business Suite homepage however, you may not be able to select the 'Confirm Connection' button (see below) hence why it's always worth trying to connect the two pages via your Facebook Business Page itself (rather than the Business Suite).
Linking Facebook & Instagram
If you are having problems connecting the two pages together, it's worth checking what is listed in your Instagram page. Go to your Instagram profile (this can be done on mobile or laptop) click the Menu bar (3 lines top right hand corner) and click 'Settings' then 'Facebook Accounts Centre.'
If you don't have a Facebook account linked to your Instagram you can click 'Setup Accounts Centre' and login to Facebook to link the two.
If you already have your Accounts linked, it should look like this. However, if your Facebook profile is incorrect (i.e. the name is wrong) your accounts wont link. If you need to remove an account/profile from the Accounts Center. Just click on the arrow, and hit 'Remove from Accounts Center.' You can then re-add the correct profile in.
Problems Creating a Facebook Pixel or Ad Account
Ideally, when setting up your 'Book Now' buttons via Slick Online Booking & Payments your settings should look like the image below.
However, you may also see an error on the 'Ad account' or 'Facebook Pixel' section that looks like this.
You can either delete part of the wording e.g. remove ' - Facebook Pixel' and click 'Continue' or you can click 'Create New' and type a new one and then click 'Continue.'
Ad Account Restricted
If your 'Ad Account' on Facebook is restricted, you may not be able to set up your 'Book Now' buttons. The reasons why your Facebook account may be restricted can be found here.
If you go into your Business Facebook Page, click 'Settings' in the side menu, then 'Ad Accounts' you may see this error. Click on 'See Details'.
Click on 'Secure your account' and you will then be able to set up a 'Two Factor Authentication' which will give you access to your Facebook Ad Account.
If you come across this error message below, you may need to review your ad account. You can do this by clicking 'Learn more'.
You will then be taken to this page and just click 'Request Review'.
Facebook can take up to 30 days to review this request so in order to bypass this, please setup your Facebook and Instagram buttons separately by clicking here and here.
